Meri Pyaari Bindu

2.5

Story : Childhood sweethearts Abhimanyu and Bindu get separated .  Destiny , however has other plans for them as they   keep meeting each other repeatedly as they experience love, desperation ,heartbreak ,success and failure together.

Review: Meri pyaari Bindu takes you back to the 1990s . The basic concept of the film is not something that is very new but the writers try hard to stand out . The film starts off well ,it is cute and  has some chuckle worthy moments ,but you keep waiting for SOMETHING to happen in the film! You wait for that defining moment in the film without which the film just seems incomplete. It looks like the scenes of the film were all shot and then joined together like in a jigsaw puzzle.  The film is therefore not able to make much of a connect with the audience.Even if this is overlooked the film only goes down hill in the second half. Especially in the last twenty minutes where you are sitting on the edge of your seat anticipating the end of the movie but it just keeps  going on. The ending conversation of the film between Bindu and Abhimanyu is long and stretched . Supposedly ,the writers thought that there is nothing left to do and we need at least a two hour long run time, so why not make the lead actors have an unnecessarily long conversation (with it raining in the background to symbolise their sadness). Then let's  make them dance in the rain too!
This movie was supposed to be Parineeti chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana's break through film after the long sabbatical that both of them had taken . Parineeti chopra tries  to reinvent herself in the film but yet she still played the same old role of a bubbly ,carefree girl that she has played in almost every single one of her films. That being said I have always been a fan of her acting and that has still not changed. Except for a few scenes she does a pretty good job. Ayushmann Khurrana too is a natural actor  and he is convincing as Abhimanyu.
Meri Pyaari Bindu is like a journey which has quite a few bumps on the way but is enjoyable  when the road is smooth, and by the time you reach the destination you are not sure what to make of the journey!
