Wonder Woman Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Wonder Woman

Fantasy
3.5
Cast :Gal Gadot , Chris Pine
Director: Patty Jenkins
Story: Born and brought up in the land of the Amazons, Princess Diana seizes  the opportunity to go to the real world and save the people   from a blood thirsty war raging there.
Review: The days are gone of the woman being the damsel in distress!  Now it's the man who takes the backseat while the woman wonderfully ( pun intended) locks horns with the bad guys. The film starts off with a back story to Diana's life explaining where she came from and what she believes in . wonder woman takes an exciting turn only once she reaches the real world. Her vulnerableness and innocence has been portrayed well by the makers . However ,all superhero (or heroine ) films are garnished with quips and that's what makes the  film so entertaining to watch! Wonder Woman is behind in that department and lacks  the occasional verbal showdown between the villain and the protagonist. Sure , it has its moments but they are not enough .While the first  half of the film is more docile ,it's only the calm before the storm as the second half is loaded with racy fight sequences . Another necessary ingredient in these  type of films is a menacing villain . The villain here is not strong enough and ends up being unintentionally funny which is not a good sign for the film . Wonder Woman believes that she can end the war if she kills Ares , the god of war. What is confusing is how did the war actually end .  Because of what she did? Or because it was destined to end either way.? The last 30 minutes of the film are too much to handle as a lot is going on there . It gets tiresome to watch . Wonder Woman has been appreciated by the critics and audiences alike . While the praises  being showered on the film may seem too much.  A good superhero film with a female lead has been awaited for the longest time  , and Wonder Woman does make it worth the wait . Wonder Woman comes to the rescue of  the unappreciated female superhero films . It gets its point across without being cheesy. The film is thrilling in the fight sequences .
Israeli model turned actor Gal Gadot does a brilliant job , she completely transforms herself into wonder Woman . She leaves no stone unturned to look believable . Chris Pine too is impressive as usual as Diana's love interest .
Go watch this one to experience girl power at a completely different level , it has got what so many superhero  films till now have not , guts !

Saiyaara: A Film Review and My Thoughts on Its Reception- By Manya Malhotra

Saiyaara: A Film Review and My Thoughts on Its Reception   Saiyaara Reception and Backlash Saiyaara opened to an 84 crores net domestic box office figure on its opening weekend, a feat unheard of for a film with newcomers, in an industry still recognised as primarily star-led. (For context, the two major films starring newcomers in the past 13 years- Dhadak and Student of the Year, earned 33.65 and 30 crores respectively). I have been a Bollywood (or Hindi film industry) fan for as long as I can remember. Seeing one of its films get such a massive reception has been heartwarming, and I cannot remember the last time a film got so much love. It has now been two weeks since the film’s release. I have read both positive and negative reactions to the film’s unprecedented success, and after digesting it all, I thought it was finally time to revisit my blog and pen down my honest opinion on both the film and everything that has followed since its release. Skeptics will spin many t...

Darlings Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Darlings Film Review By Manya Malhotra Cast :   Alia Bhatt, Vijay Verma, Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Sharma, Vijay Maurya Director:   Jasmeet K. Reen   Review :   Darlings is co-written by writer-director Jasmeet K Reen and Parveez Sheikh, who has films like Queen to his writing credits. It stars powerhouse performers like Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, and Vijay Verma — and is also Bhatt’s maiden film as a producer. Clearly, the expectations with this one are very high— and yet it still manages to make an impact.  Darling s tells the story of Badrunissa who suffers physical and psychological abuse at the hands of her husband before one day finally deciding to retaliate.  Make no mistake, Darlings is not an easy film to watch. It is infuriating but also determinedly terrifying. It lets you breathe but is also dangerously unsettling.    The first half of the film is the hardest to watch....

Ek Villain Returns Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Ek Villain Returns Review ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Cast : Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, John Abraham, Tara Sutaria Directo r: Mohit Suri Review: Ek Villain Returns is the smiley face-filled sequel to the Blockbuster film Ek Villain . If you did not get the smiley reference, you should probably  check out the first film in the franchise—or not if you value your sanity even a little. I went into the hall for Ek Villain Returns highly sceptical, and willing to wholly suspend disbelief. My decision to do so paid off greatly as I denied myself my usual urge to protest exasperatedly when the hero, or villain, or whatever humiliated and terrified a famous singer to clear the stage (literally) for an up-and-coming artist who he happened to fancy. I also bought it when, impressed by this charming gesture the girl ended up falling head over heels in love with the man.   This is Director Mohit Suri’s world, here love always coexists with pain...
