Baaghi 2 Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Baaghi 2

3
Thriller
Cast: Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, Prateik Babbar , Manoj Bajpayee, Deepak Dobriyal
Director: Ahmed  Khan
Story: Ronny gets a mysterious call form Neha four years after they parted ways, asking him to help her find her missing daughter. Things , however are not how they seem. Is Neha telling the truth?
Review: We dive right into a world of rebels, drug addicts and vulgar corrupt police officers and are taken close ( a bit too close) to the hub of everything illegal ,Goa. According to the film, in Goa you are either a drug smuggling murderer or a shell shocked victim, there is no in between. Baaghi 2 makes an effort to create a story which is a good thing though I'm not sure how successful they are. The story gets carried away and in an attempt to look stylish and slick it ends up looking illogical and frivolous in places. Also I would like to know what was going on in the minds of whoever developed the characters in this remade version of Telugu movie  Kshanam. There is a braid making , selfie clicking absolutely absurd police officer played by Randeep Hooda and a totally "high" and reckless Prateik Babbar. There is also a not so classy rendition of an old classic picturised on the brazen Jacqueline Fernandez.
Despite all this the movie does manage to remain somewhat entertaining. The cheesy dialogues between the hero and heroine in the first film are not present here .. well maybe because there was hardly any romance between the lead pair in this one. There are a few twist and turns in the plot. Some of them are predictable but still bang on! We have Tiger Shroff taking down a whole army of trained men all by himself ,some say it's not plausible but if Salman Khan(the reel tiger) can do it then why not Tiger Shroff who looks much more believable. Tiger has improved his acting .. slightly and his new look is working wonders for him. Every time he comes onscreen or packs a punch the whistles just don't stop! Competition alert for the existing  talent in the industry. Disha Patani is .. uh well she's okay. Randeep Hooda is .. uh well he does a pretty good job to be honest and Prateik Babbar , Deepak Dobriyal lend the necessary support. Manoj Bajpayee seems a bit out of place.  This film is a one time watch because despite all the hooliganism, lunacy and blunders Baaghi 2 is all heart!

Saiyaara: A Film Review and My Thoughts on Its Reception- By Manya Malhotra

Saiyaara: A Film Review and My Thoughts on Its Reception   Saiyaara Reception and Backlash Saiyaara opened to an 84 crores net domestic box office figure on its opening weekend, a feat unheard of for a film with newcomers, in an industry still recognised as primarily star-led. (For context, the two major films starring newcomers in the past 13 years- Dhadak and Student of the Year, earned 33.65 and 30 crores respectively). I have been a Bollywood (or Hindi film industry) fan for as long as I can remember. Seeing one of its films get such a massive reception has been heartwarming, and I cannot remember the last time a film got so much love. It has now been two weeks since the film’s release. I have read both positive and negative reactions to the film’s unprecedented success, and after digesting it all, I thought it was finally time to revisit my blog and pen down my honest opinion on both the film and everything that has followed since its release. Skeptics will spin many t...

Darlings Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Darlings Film Review By Manya Malhotra Cast :   Alia Bhatt, Vijay Verma, Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Sharma, Vijay Maurya Director:   Jasmeet K. Reen   Review :   Darlings is co-written by writer-director Jasmeet K Reen and Parveez Sheikh, who has films like Queen to his writing credits. It stars powerhouse performers like Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, and Vijay Verma — and is also Bhatt’s maiden film as a producer. Clearly, the expectations with this one are very high— and yet it still manages to make an impact.  Darling s tells the story of Badrunissa who suffers physical and psychological abuse at the hands of her husband before one day finally deciding to retaliate.  Make no mistake, Darlings is not an easy film to watch. It is infuriating but also determinedly terrifying. It lets you breathe but is also dangerously unsettling.    The first half of the film is the hardest to watch....

Ek Villain Returns Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Ek Villain Returns Review ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Cast : Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, John Abraham, Tara Sutaria Directo r: Mohit Suri Review: Ek Villain Returns is the smiley face-filled sequel to the Blockbuster film Ek Villain . If you did not get the smiley reference, you should probably  check out the first film in the franchise—or not if you value your sanity even a little. I went into the hall for Ek Villain Returns highly sceptical, and willing to wholly suspend disbelief. My decision to do so paid off greatly as I denied myself my usual urge to protest exasperatedly when the hero, or villain, or whatever humiliated and terrified a famous singer to clear the stage (literally) for an up-and-coming artist who he happened to fancy. I also bought it when, impressed by this charming gesture the girl ended up falling head over heels in love with the man.   This is Director Mohit Suri’s world, here love always coexists with pain...
