Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Shaadi mein zaroor aana

2.5
Drama
Cast: Kriti Kharbanda, Rajkumar Rao, Nayani Dixit , Manoj Pahwa
Director: Ratnaa Sinha
Story : Two love birds decide to get married. What happens when the girl leaves the boy at the mandap on the night of their wedding?
Review: At the  start we are made to dive headlong into a mushy, romantic story which is easy breezy and sometimes cheesy!  The girl and boy are besotted and  after galavanting around the whole city ,they finally arrive on their wedding day.  Here comes the twist in the  tale , which seems to have taken inspiration from this year's smashing commercial success , Badrinath Ki Dulhania . The girl just leaves  her marriage without even talking to the boy or her would -be in laws about the issue at hand. She just runs off in the Marathon of life without once looking back at the starting line . The makers were so eager to show the message of women empowerment that they did not pause and try to see the logic in their narrative . Anyway , once this is over we are made to see the boys pain and anguish  and what started off as a sweet , romantic film turns into the ultimate revenge saga! The tables have turned and this time it's the boy's turn to torment the girl. With melodrama and insanity filled to the brim mixed with some emotion and comedy and betrayal thrown in too , the bucket of this film starts overflowing to the extent that you are at a loss of words to describe what is happening. It is just too much . The girl says something the boy hears something else and the audience just buries their face in their hands.
Talking about the music, it is nice and manages to lift the movie ( though only  a bit.)
Thankfully , the performances are not a let down.  Kriti Kharbanda is quite delightful and she has a big enough role . She looks pretty too. Needless to say Rajkumar Rao does an excellent job and his sincerity speaks volumes of the kind of actor he is.  This film could have been much better if the execution was smoother and the glitches in the storyline were removed.
I suggest that if you want to see this movie , then do not!  But If you still want to give it a try then shaadi mubaarak ho!!

Saiyaara: A Film Review and My Thoughts on Its Reception- By Manya Malhotra

Saiyaara: A Film Review and My Thoughts on Its Reception   Saiyaara Reception and Backlash Saiyaara opened to an 84 crores net domestic box office figure on its opening weekend, a feat unheard of for a film with newcomers, in an industry still recognised as primarily star-led. (For context, the two major films starring newcomers in the past 13 years- Dhadak and Student of the Year, earned 33.65 and 30 crores respectively). I have been a Bollywood (or Hindi film industry) fan for as long as I can remember. Seeing one of its films get such a massive reception has been heartwarming, and I cannot remember the last time a film got so much love. It has now been two weeks since the film’s release. I have read both positive and negative reactions to the film’s unprecedented success, and after digesting it all, I thought it was finally time to revisit my blog and pen down my honest opinion on both the film and everything that has followed since its release. Skeptics will spin many t...

Darlings Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Darlings Film Review By Manya Malhotra Cast :   Alia Bhatt, Vijay Verma, Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Sharma, Vijay Maurya Director:   Jasmeet K. Reen   Review :   Darlings is co-written by writer-director Jasmeet K Reen and Parveez Sheikh, who has films like Queen to his writing credits. It stars powerhouse performers like Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, and Vijay Verma — and is also Bhatt’s maiden film as a producer. Clearly, the expectations with this one are very high— and yet it still manages to make an impact.  Darling s tells the story of Badrunissa who suffers physical and psychological abuse at the hands of her husband before one day finally deciding to retaliate.  Make no mistake, Darlings is not an easy film to watch. It is infuriating but also determinedly terrifying. It lets you breathe but is also dangerously unsettling.    The first half of the film is the hardest to watch....

Ek Villain Returns Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Ek Villain Returns Review ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Cast : Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, John Abraham, Tara Sutaria Directo r: Mohit Suri Review: Ek Villain Returns is the smiley face-filled sequel to the Blockbuster film Ek Villain . If you did not get the smiley reference, you should probably  check out the first film in the franchise—or not if you value your sanity even a little. I went into the hall for Ek Villain Returns highly sceptical, and willing to wholly suspend disbelief. My decision to do so paid off greatly as I denied myself my usual urge to protest exasperatedly when the hero, or villain, or whatever humiliated and terrified a famous singer to clear the stage (literally) for an up-and-coming artist who he happened to fancy. I also bought it when, impressed by this charming gesture the girl ended up falling head over heels in love with the man.   This is Director Mohit Suri’s world, here love always coexists with pain...
