Thor Ragnarok Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Thor Ragnarok: Thunder Roars Again!

3.5
Action
Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hilddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo.
Director: Taika Waititi
Review: Thor is back! (I hear hooting from the audience )and this time he has brought with him some scintillating humour.  We are transported to a world , or rather nine worlds (realms) of immortal beings where unexpected surprises await you , ready to be unleashed with miraculous flamboyance. Thor, the god of thunder has to fight the rather Hellish Hella to save his fellow Asgardians from the merciless schemes of death and he has the help of a remarkably outlandish yet extraordinarily powerful team of five. It has been four years since the last Thor movie came out in 2013 and the growth in the franchise has been phenomenal since then. Thor: Ragnarok is being appreciated by critics and audiences alike. From the first scene itself the director commands your attention by showcasing a rather fascinating sequence of events where you see Thor having quite a blast! Slowly and steadily you are introduced and reintroduced to the characters. We have a rather winsome Loki , who's character has been modified a bit and trust me no one is complaining !!  Loki seems to have  stolen Thor's "thunder" this time around. The endearingly menacing hulk is here too , and boy does he make a good comeback! If you are a marvel fan you will love this movie, it has action, comedy, drama, action, action×more action all cooked together to make the perfect marvel dish! Of course this dish is garnished with some imprudence  and in a bid to impress the audience the makers sometimes  lose control, risking being a tad bit over the top.  You could feel that the action  is just too much! However this film is largely entertaining. Larger than life sets, quirky dialogues ( courtesy Eric Pearson, Craig Kyle, Christopher Yost), music that complements the film perfectly and on top of all that great performances. Chris Hemsworth seems to be having the time of his life in this one! Cate Blanchett gives evil a new meaning and plays her part with much aplomb. Mark Ruffalo is outstanding and Tom Hiddleston as Loki is quite the revelation. There are plenty of cameos in this one to keep you thoroughly engrossed. Though I won't reveal much to keep the element of surprise intact. We also have the director Taika Waititi  playing Korg, perhaps one of the best characters in the movie and he certainly invokes the most laughs. Of course there are the two post credit scenes here as well (a marvel specialty!) So if you are ready to dive into this captivating mythical world then go for it!

Saiyaara: A Film Review and My Thoughts on Its Reception- By Manya Malhotra

Saiyaara: A Film Review and My Thoughts on Its Reception   Saiyaara Reception and Backlash Saiyaara opened to an 84 crores net domestic box office figure on its opening weekend, a feat unheard of for a film with newcomers, in an industry still recognised as primarily star-led. (For context, the two major films starring newcomers in the past 13 years- Dhadak and Student of the Year, earned 33.65 and 30 crores respectively). I have been a Bollywood (or Hindi film industry) fan for as long as I can remember. Seeing one of its films get such a massive reception has been heartwarming, and I cannot remember the last time a film got so much love. It has now been two weeks since the film’s release. I have read both positive and negative reactions to the film’s unprecedented success, and after digesting it all, I thought it was finally time to revisit my blog and pen down my honest opinion on both the film and everything that has followed since its release. Skeptics will spin many t...

Darlings Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Darlings Film Review By Manya Malhotra Cast :   Alia Bhatt, Vijay Verma, Shefali Shah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Sharma, Vijay Maurya Director:   Jasmeet K. Reen   Review :   Darlings is co-written by writer-director Jasmeet K Reen and Parveez Sheikh, who has films like Queen to his writing credits. It stars powerhouse performers like Alia Bhatt, Shefali Shah, and Vijay Verma — and is also Bhatt’s maiden film as a producer. Clearly, the expectations with this one are very high— and yet it still manages to make an impact.  Darling s tells the story of Badrunissa who suffers physical and psychological abuse at the hands of her husband before one day finally deciding to retaliate.  Make no mistake, Darlings is not an easy film to watch. It is infuriating but also determinedly terrifying. It lets you breathe but is also dangerously unsettling.    The first half of the film is the hardest to watch....

Ek Villain Returns Film Review By Manya Malhotra

Ek Villain Returns Review ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Cast : Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, John Abraham, Tara Sutaria Directo r: Mohit Suri Review: Ek Villain Returns is the smiley face-filled sequel to the Blockbuster film Ek Villain . If you did not get the smiley reference, you should probably  check out the first film in the franchise—or not if you value your sanity even a little. I went into the hall for Ek Villain Returns highly sceptical, and willing to wholly suspend disbelief. My decision to do so paid off greatly as I denied myself my usual urge to protest exasperatedly when the hero, or villain, or whatever humiliated and terrified a famous singer to clear the stage (literally) for an up-and-coming artist who he happened to fancy. I also bought it when, impressed by this charming gesture the girl ended up falling head over heels in love with the man.   This is Director Mohit Suri’s world, here love always coexists with pain...
